Eyewear Fit Guide
Great-looking frames should feel good, too. Start with a pair of glasses that already fits you comfortably, then use this guide to understand the measurements when you shop.
What do frame measurements mean?
Frame measurements are usually shown in millimeters (mm). You may see three numbers printed inside a temple arm, such as 52 □ 18 140. This is an example only, not the size of any SAAK EYEWEAR frame.
- Lens width (52 in the example): the horizontal width of one lens at its widest point. It helps you compare lens size, but does not tell you the total width of the frame.
- Bridge width (18 in the example): the distance between the lenses at the bridge. Bridge shape and nose-pad design also affect how the frame sits on your nose.
- Temple length (140 in the example): the length of the arm from the hinge to the tip, including the section that curves behind your ear.
Compare with glasses you already wear
- Check the inside of both temple arms for a size marking.
- Write down the lens width, bridge width and temple length, if available.
- Compare those measurements with the information on the product page. Similar numbers are a starting point, not a guarantee of the same fit.
- If there are no markings, use a millimeter ruler to measure one lens horizontally at its widest point and the gap between the lenses. Temple length follows the arm's bend, so an optician can help measure it accurately.
Overall frame width, frame shape, lens height and nose-pad placement matter, too. Two frames with the same lens width can fit differently. Do not use lens width alone to decide whether a frame will fit.
How should your frames feel?
- At your nose: the bridge or nose pads should feel stable without pinching or repeatedly sliding down.
- At your temples: the arms should sit comfortably without squeezing the sides of your head or bowing outward.
- Behind your ears: the temple tips should feel secure without digging in.
- Across your face: the frame should sit level and feel balanced. Check for uncomfortable contact with your cheeks or eyelashes.
Shopping clear-lens and rimless styles
Clear lenses and rimless construction describe a style, not a size or fit. Compare the measurements available for the exact frame you are considering. A lightweight appearance does not guarantee a wider, narrower or more flexible fit.
Missing a measurement?
If a product page lists lens width but not bridge width, temple length or overall frame width, those missing measurements are not confirmed. Please contact SAAK EYEWEAR before ordering if you need them to make your decision. Include the product name and the measurements of your current pair, if you have them. Do not estimate missing dimensions from a product photo.
Adjustments and everyday care
If your glasses need adjustment, ask an optician for help rather than forcing the bridge, hinges or temple arms yourself. Take particular care with rimless frames, where the lenses connect directly to the frame hardware.
Use a clean microfiber cloth and a cleaner suitable for your lenses, following any care instructions supplied with your pair. Avoid paper towels, abrasive cleaners and high heat. Remove glasses with both hands and keep them in a protective case when not in use.
Measurements help narrow your options, but comfort depends on the complete frame design and your individual fit.
